You may be wondering, “What are God Groups?” God Groups encompass all the Small Groups that meet both inside and outside Springfield Faith Center. These groups include Home Groups, Bible Studies, Marriage Groups, Overcoming Addiction Groups, Outreach Groups and Service Groups. We are living in a very interesting time where many churches are pulling away from God and the Bible and moving toward “what makes me feel good” doctrine. We want to make sure our focus in our groups will always be, “God first with guidance from the Holy Spirit through Bible”, then worship, community and outreach. If we have “God first with guidance from the Holy Spirit through the Bible” to filter everything we do in our groups, then all our decisions and priorities should be influenced by God. If we let anything else take first then our decision and priorities for our groups will be influenced by “what makes me feel good”, not God. Whether reaching out to the homeless, Bible study or trying to hear God, our underlying foundation should be, "to do it as unto the Lord", having God, through the Holy Spirit direct our groups.
