So what is MOPS? MOPS stands for "mothers of preschoolers" - but don't let that confuse you. MOPS is about meeting the needs of every mom of a child from conception through kindergarten. Whether you're urban, suburban, rural, stay-at-home, working, teen, adoptive, special-needs, single or married, MOPS is for you! Our meetings are held on the 2nd and 4th Thursdays of each month from 9:30 am - 11:30 am, beginning September 8, 2011 and continuing through May 2012. It is held in the Family Room at Springfield Faith Center, but moms from every church (or no church at all) are welcome! Each meeting is focused on a topic central to a woman’s life. A typical day will have a guest speaker, time to share with other moms about their experiences, sharing food together and working on a creative project. Childcare is provided for children 0-6 years, through our MOPPETS program. In addition to our regular meetings we try to have a "Mom's Night Out" on the third Saturday of each month to continue building relationships, and have a relaxing night away from the house. Also, on the third Thursday of the month we will meet outside of the church to play at the park, visit a fire station, and other fun outings with our kids. There is a MOPS International registration fee of $24, and a group cost of $16 to help cover supplies for 2011-2012 year. The first meeting is free and there are scholarships available. It is our desire that financial shortages would not keep anyone away, so please let us know if you need help covering costs. The theme for the 2011/2012 year is Momsense- Bold, Loving, Sensible. We hope to help you make connections with other moms, and experience and learn about God’s love for you in this unique time in your life. We hope to see you there!
