Fasting
- Jesus wants his presence associated with the idea of celebration.
- The Pharisees are stuck in something old, and they can’t see the new thing God is doing.
- A new patch on old clothes; new wine in old skins.
Keeping the Sabbath
- The law is not the source of righteousness; Jesus is.
Taking this Passage Home:
- Jesus wants his presence in your life to be a source of celebration.
- Continually be asking God to open your eyes to the new.
- Daily ask Jesus to lead you in righteousness.
