AUTHENTIC DISCIPLESHIP  

Mark 9:30-50  

BIG IDEA:  

  • Authentic disciples take seriously the call to become like  Jesus in self-sacrificial service to others. 

Barriers to Authentic Discipleship:  

  1. Misunderstanding greatness

Mark 9:33-37 

Action: Welcome the least significant. 

  1. Guarding authority

Mark 9:38-41 

Action: Choose unity with those who belong to Jesus.   

  1. Causing downfall

Mark 9:42-50 

Action: Cut out sin and pursue righteousness.
