- Jesus is wrestling with a powerful desire to escape his circumstances.
- The challenge is to surrender his own will, and to agree with God’s direction for his life.
- God answers Jesus’ prayer by saying, “no.”

- Jesus expressed a need to be supported by his friends.
- Jesus’ willingness to surrender his will to God led to the redemption of all of creation.
