John 15:1-17

The Parable (v.1-8):

John 13:1-17, John 13:34-35, John 14:7-31, 1 John 2:3-11

• Jesus is the fulfillment of Israel’s calling

• The job of the branch is to abide

• Fruit comes from vital unity with Jesus

The Explanation (v.9-17):

• Abiding in Christ involves love and obedience

• Jesus’ example is one of self-sacrifice

• We have become friends through revelation

Responding to the Call to Abide:

❶ Pray for the kind of unity with Jesus that he has with God the father. 

❷ Pray that God will reveal his will and empower you to be obedient to it. 

❸ Pray that you will learn to love the way God loves.
