A WORD OF ENCOURAGEMENT

Acts 13:13-52

Paul’s Sermon:
Acts 13:16-41

• History Lesson – God has been gracious, patient, and faithful from the beginning.

• Worldview shift – God raised Jesus from the dead.

• God’s promises through risen Jesus – forgiveness of sins and eternal life is available to everyone who believes.

The Peoples’ Response:

Acts 13:42-52

• Some reject – contradiction, abuse, persecution

• Some receive – gladness, honor, eternal life

Lessons:

1. God is faithful – he fulfills his promises.
2. We all must come to terms with Jesus’ resurrection.
3. The Holy Spirit fills us with joy in the face of persecution.
